For Cold Warriors, I was a Communist for the F.B.I. was a program with a message of vigilance during its 78-episode run.  With Communist China and the Soviet Union expanding at the cost of freedom, the nation was introduced to Matt Cvetic, played by Dana Andrews.  Many of the stories were taken from actual accounts of Matt Cvetic, who worked for the F.B.I. as an undercover operative for the Communist Party of the United States.  The program aired in syndication from 1952 to 1954.  Mr. Cvetic was shunned by his family (although his mother still loved him) while he worked to protect the United States.
