 The American version of The Fat Man starring J. Scott Smart provided humor and good stories. The show was about a gruff detective, Brad Runyon. Unfortunately, there are only 10 surviving broadcasts available. There is an Australian version that just isn't as good. The show was based on Dashiell Hammett's character and aired from 1946 to 1951 on the A.B.C. radio network. The beginning of the program (Windows Media RealPlayer) had Runyon getting on a weight scale in a drug store and getting his fortune.
